SSL & IE Setup
|

Today we enacted Secure Socket Layer (SSL) on Blackboard. So there will need to be some setup changes to IE. One is that http://blackboard.maricopa.edu will no longer work as the single URL in the Trusted list of sites. From now on the URL must contain the three digit campus prefix. For example: https://gcc.blackboard.maricopa.edu Also in the security setup you will need to enable Display Mixed Content in Internet Options. Blackboard Maintenance Complete
|

|
Maricopa's Blackboard winter maintenance has been completed and the system is available for use. You will notice a couple of changes as you login. A new pop up message will appear from your browser stating that you are about to display a page that has both secure and non-secure content, simply press 'OK'. You may also receive a message that you are leaving a secure site. This is normal. After pressing the Submit button to login, press 'OK' to get past the message and then log into the system.

Blackboard Upgrade

RESOLVED: May 23, 2007: 1:00 PM Blackboard will be down from 12 AM Tuesday, May 22 until 6 AM Thursday, May 24. Both Blackboard 7 and 6.3 will be affected as Maricopa's Blackboard is upgraded to version 7.1.

Blackboard Server Outage

Problems submitting messages in the text box
|
|
Problem: Internet Explorer 7 interferes with saving information to the Blackboard server, which means that messages placed in text boxes simply disappear and meesages appear empty.
What it affects: Any situation where you are adding a message in a text box with a full toolbar. Known problem areas include posting a message to the discussion board and submitting short answer or essay responses on tests.
Solution: There are two procedures to try: adding Blackboard to Internet Explorer 7's list of Trusted Sites and disabling the full toolbar.
- See Setting up Internet Explorer 7 and test to see if this clears up the problem.
- If you still cannot submit anything in text boxes, change the toolbar's availability. See Disabling the Visual Text Box Editor's full toolbar.

This website offers support for Maricopa County Community College District's version of Blackboard. This site will help you solve some of your simple problems with Blackboard.
